Materials needed

  • Approximately 0.45 square metres of firm vegetable-tanned or chrome-tanned leather, 1.2–1.6 mm (3–4 oz) thick.
  • For the woven version: base leather plus strips 5–6 mm wide.
  • Waxed thread, 0.8 mm.
